About

My name is Shelley Mannion and I’m a cultural technologist from London. Well, sort of. I’m also an art historian, web developer, museum buff, Tibetan art lover and amateur photographer. And I’ve arrived in London by way of California, Holland, Switzerland and France. This blog is mostly about the use of technology in museums and cultural institutions inspired by my work with the University of Lugano’s TEC-CH program in Technology for Cultural Heritage. I’m especially interested in creative interpretation and how to engage visitors when they come to the museum. I’m convinced that the traditional way museums have communicated with their audiences needs to change in order to help them remain relevant in contemporary society. You can find me most often on twitter @smannion.
